The wine spent 10 months in barrels, with 20% new oak, 20% one-year-old oak, and the remainder in two- and three-year-old barrels. On the nose, it is Pinosity on steroids, showing a fragrant, lifted and buoyant array of crunchy red currants, cherries, plums and poppy notes. On the palate, it is juicy and lip-smacking fresh, with an energy that revitalises the entire mouth. The light-bodied frame adds to the prettiness and joie de vivre of the wine, which, despite its charm, is far from simple or frivolous, carrying itself with expertise and grace.

From a close-planted single vineyard in Seville. A vibrant crimson purple. Gently perfumed and floral with aromas of young raspberries, wild strawberries and spice. A touch more depth and stufng than the ‘22. It’s more structured too and should evolve gracefully over the next 3–5 years. I also like that you can buy a single-vineyard Upper Yarra pinot, made from 20-year-old vines, at this price. PR 12.5% alc.
