SHEDFEST 10th & 11th October 2015

Shedfest is an annual winery festival held on the second weekend of October, it is a great time to visit the Yarra Valley and enjoy everything on offer. During the Shedfest event wineries in the Yarra Valley will open their sheds to house two days of fabulous food, fine wine, live music and entertainment. Winter Trading

Trading hours Queens Birthday long weekend: Saturday 6th June – 11am – 5pm Sunday 7th June – 11am – 5pm Monday 8th June – Closed   July Closure. As winter is a slower trading period we close the doors through the month of July and take the opportunity to have a break (drink wine) and plan for another big year ahead at Payne’s Rise. First Pinot Noir Release

2014 ‘Mr Jed’ Pinot Noir   We like our wines to have personality – hence the name ‘Mr Jed’. Why ‘Mr Jed’?  March 13 2014 saw the birth of our second boy Jed (AKA Mr Jed) and our first crop of Pinot noir from the Paynes Rise vineyard. Both our son and this wine are in their infancy, but portray an equally strong distinct character.  Gentle, cheeky, easy to love, cool and reserved, restrained but with a wild streak.   Soft and structural with fresh acidity. Juicy red berries, cherry, floral and spice with a fine earthy silky tannin structure.   We have worked very hard on this block of grafted Pinot over the last few years, needless to say we are very excited by…
