Vintage 2016

Yet again, another very early harvest for the Yarra Valley. An exceptionally dry and warmer than average spring led into an early dry and warm summer. Fruit colouring started early in January and was helped by well needed timely rainfall. The weather moderated late season with plenty of sunshine and cooler nights. The 2016 wines are showing some great depth and concentration of flavour. Harvest time is busy and hectic, although we enjoy this time with family realising the work achieved through the season. Cheers to Vintage 2016 Yarra Valley. To view some more pictures taken over the harvest period follow our Instagram account. – @paynesrise
