‘The Winefront’ – Gary Walsh
From the cool reaches of Seville, in the Upper Yarra.
Blackcurrant and mulberry with flecks of aniseed and gum leaf and creamy chocolate oak in support. Medium bodied, succulent and evenly weighted, with supple tannin, red and black fruits mixed with tobacco and pretty good length. Lovely graceful wine. Much more to come too, I suspect.

Light purple-crimson; this relatively warm vintage suited cabernet sauvignon, often a difficult variety in the Upper Yarra Valley; its floral bouquet and juicy cassis/redcurrant fruits and superfine tannins result in a wine that will be at its best now or up to ’18.
