'This is fabulous value. It's complex, taut, elegant and lengthy.  It tastes of lemon, green melon, struck matches and peach, and both its aroma and flavour are 100 percent spot on.  It's at the complex, funky end of the chardonnay spectrum so you have to be 'into' this kind of thing'.

Payne's Rise Sauvignon Blanc 2009 - yet to be released.
Rated 90 points - Drink 2011- James Halliday 2011 Australian Wine Companion.
Bright colour; has an equally balanced array of grassy/citrus and gooseberry/tropical fruit characters complexed by barrel fermentation in used oak; good acidity cleans up the finish.

Payne's Rise Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
Rated: 90 points - James Halliday 2010 Australian Wine Companion
Crimson-red; well made, with attractive blackcurrant varietal fruit supported by fine tannins and balanced oak; has good line and a fresh finish.

Has considerable intensity to its citrussy/grassy stone fruit flavours perhaps with a touch of sweetness.
